On May 8, 2013, when KEDS started operations in Kosovo, it was necessary that in order to achieve a complete energy transformation, in addition to professional capacities, in the face of this challenge, a balance of workforce was also needed and had to be part of this objective.

Such an electro-energetic transformation was not easy. Many factors show the state of the electricity network at that time. Today, when KEDS is completing a decade of operation in Kosovo, we can proudly say that the immediate need for sustainability of the distribution network has been largely achieved.

During ten years, KEDS has managed to advance to a much higher level in the distribution and supply of electricity.

KEDS, with a clear mission in front itself, started investments to illuminate every corner of Kosovo. Investments affect every home, every business, every family, every citizen of the Republic of Kosovo.

KEDS, for 10 years, managed to invest over 216 million euros and through them realize over 2300 projects. These investments affected every segment of society and every citizen of Kosovo. With the start of operations, KEDS also started the extension of the underground network. Today, most city centers do not have power poles.

The operation of the Medium Voltage network has been completely digitized and today that network is managed from a single room. The reading and billing of all customers have been digitized. Nearly 600,000 digital meters have been installed, too.

For 10 years, KEDS has managed to lay almost 18.5 million meters of cable and place over 142 thousand new electric poles. In a small electrical system like Kosovo, these changes for such a short period are big.

The ISO Standard certification in three categories shows that the company operates at the highest quality levels: Safety at Work, Quality Management, and Environment.

In addition to these investments, from the beginning, it was deemed necessary to invest in human resources. For ten years in a row, KEDS became the gateway to the education of young people in energy and their employment. Since 2013, in addition to the start of operations, the KEDS Academy was also founded, in which about 600 students from high schools and faculties carry out programs on energy. Today, over 60 percent of this number are part of the KEDS staff.

KEDS, throughout these ten years, is committed to helping green energy producers in many ways and adopting the distribution network that adapts to these green energy trends.

In the new decade, KEDS will continue to focus on guaranteeing a universal, reliable, and quality service that meets the latest technological standards.
