KEDS is doubling the capacity of the electricity network in Ferizaj
Ferizaj is entering a new phase of energy infrastructure improvement. Currently, in the city with the fastest-growing population and economy in Kosovo, a major project is underway to convert distribution network feeders from 10 kV to 20 kV. The project includes a total of eight feeders, thereby doubling the supply capacity of electricity for thousands of citizens and businesses in the area.
This strategic investment aims to eliminate network overloads, enhance supply security, and provide much higher-quality services to consumers. Once completed, Ferizaj will have a modern network fully prepared for the increased demand in consumption, creating better conditions for the city’s economic and social development.
The project is scheduled to be completed within this year, giving Ferizaj a similar advantage to what has already been achieved in Prishtina, where this process has delivered tangible results in improving service quality.
As part of this transformation, new cells adapted to the 20 kV capacity have already been installed in the Ferizaj 2 Substation. This step is of particular importance, as it ensures that the network will operate stably and without interruptions even under high load conditions.
This investment is part of a long-term strategy for modernizing the distribution network across Kosovo. Through it, not only is a more stable and efficient supply ensured, but the prerequisites are also created for the integration of new technologies and sustainable energy sources.
With this step, Ferizaj is joining the cities benefiting from a modern energy infrastructure, guaranteeing higher-quality service and a better outlook for the future.
