In order to establish order, eliminate energy losses and provide the highest quality services, KEDS is continuing the fight against electricity thieves.

This mission is undertaken with teams who are uncompromising towards any customer who abuses electricity. Their identification is being done easily through a sophisticated system integrated into power plants.

Peja’s Deçan, Prizren’s Krajka, and Prishtina’s Bardhosh were just some of the locations where KEDS took action against electricity thieves recently. Some consumers there were caught red-handed abusing the electricity services.

Despite the crisis that the country is facing, some consumers are continuing to illegally use electricity services, endangering not only the energy system but also the overall safety of other citizens.

Unregistered use of electricity, in addition to causing overload in the grid, is also endangering the entire energy infrastructure.

This has led KEDS to increase its actions by organizing numerous checks on the suspected thieves of electricity. In addition to being fined, they are also being prosecuted in court, where according to the law in force, the risk of being sentenced is up to three years in prison.

Every year, KEDS files about five thousand criminal charges against those who illegally use electricity services.

KEDS appeals to consumers to not abuse electricity in any situation and in case they encounter such cases, to let us know through our communication channels, like Call Center 0800 791 00 or write us on our social networks, where each case will be treated with complete confidentiality.

KEDS will not stop with these actions until the complete elimination of this phenomenon.
