In the process that started today, a total of 5,000 smart meters will be installed with a focus on consumers looking for new connections and on those who do not have meters.

Operation with smart meters is very efficient and has continuously advanced the services and security of distribution and supply of electricity to consumers. Consequently, the advantages and possibilities that these meters offer are numerous.

KEDS has so far installed over 100,000 such meters throughout the country.

This service is part of the systematization of consumers in the north of the country and represents a big step forward for the operation completely and comprehensively for the entire distribution network of Kosovo.

The electrical integration of the northern part of the country began in the first part of December last year when KEDS signed the contract with Elektrosever to normalize the distribution and supply of electricity in the municipalities of Zubin Potok, Leposaviq, Zveçan and North Mitrovica.

This contract complies with Kosovo law and the regulatory framework, in accordance with the Energy Agreements dated September 8, 2013 (“2013 Energy Agreements”) and the Conclusions of the EU Facilitator on the implementation of the 2013 Energy Agreement, of August 25, 2015 ("2015 Energy Agreements"), as well as the Guideline for the Implementation of Energy Agreements of June 21, 2022.
