Practical advice on how to save over 300-kilowatt hours per month
Saving electricity is a habit that should have everyone's attention, especially now when many countries, including Kosovo, are in an unprecedented energy crisis.
But in order to save energy, we need to start being more aware on a daily basis of the ways we use energy in our homes.
At KEDS we have started energy-saving campaigns for more than a year and we are constantly bringing you specific saving practices that our employees have applied in their homes.
A perfect example of saving over 300 kWh for a month is Dritan Ferati, Head of the Dispatch Center. Through a video, he gives us detailed and very practical advice on saving electricity.
"Saving this much energy was very simple just by implementing all the recommendations from the company. First I replaced all the traditional bulbs with economical ones, then we turned off the lights where they weren’t needed, etc. "
As another way of saving over 300 kWh, Mr. Ferati has mentioned the recommendation of the KEDS savings experts, to turn off the electric oven a few minutes before the baking process, because the oven is already hot and it is enough to complete the baking of the food. As for the reduction of financial expenses, he has mentioned that the low tariff should be taken into account and the appliances that consume more energy should be used more during this tariff.
According to KEDS experts, about 19% of the total amount of your monthly bill goes to cooking at home. Moreover, they say that "if you use cooking and baking appliances on average for about 1 hour and 30 minutes a day, the monthly expenditure will be 137 kWh".
"I suggest to all of you to adhere to the recommendations of the KEDS company because they are effective since they save your finances and also save energy," said Mr. Ferati.
Although small changes to your energy-saving routine may seem insignificant, small steps turn into big changes when we all contribute consistently.
To compare expenses between months, you can download the eKesco application, where you can find all the data displayed through graphs.
When all of us contribute a little, it is enough.
